Hello out there. Are you curious about what it's like to be bipolar? Do you have the diagnosis already? Do you just want to talk with others because you have a friend or family member with the disease?
After publishing my memoir: Shift Happens — Breakdowns during life's long hauls, I occasionally get pulled aside by complete strangers saying they want to talk about their son or sister or mother who is also bipolar. We agree to meet for coffee, and share experiences. A few times, the bipolar diagnosed person has approached me directly with wanting to share a bit of their own story. I want this blog to further my sense of community with bipolar diagnosed people, their friends and family. We certainly are not alone, and . . . we don't need to be!
As I learn more about blogging, and began to ask you questions about your experience, your correspondence will help my latest book project. I've interviewed 6 local people with the diagnosis — the youngest being 30 and the oldest being 64. Currently, my writing group is responding and I'm in the revising stage of the project.
That's enough for today!
